We are seeking dedicated Social Work and Counseling students for an enriching internship experience.

What You'll Gain
Interning with Metropolitan Ministries offers a unique chance to grow both personally and professionally. You’ll work alongside other Counseling and Social Work interns and gain hands-on experience in:
- Building rapport and probing techniques
- Documentation and data entry
- Crisis de-escalation strategies
- Individual counseling for adults and children
- Co-facilitating therapeutic groups
- Substance and recovery support services
In addition, you’ll learn about the operations of a nonprofit organization, from therapeutic children’s groups to community outreach programs. You will also have the opportunity to engage in weekly trainings on various mental health topics.
Internship Details
- Eligibility: Must be enrolled in a Social Work or Counseling Program (Associates, Bachelors, Masters).
- Schedule:
- Available Monday through Thursday, between 9 AM and 8 PM and Friday, between 9 AM and 5PM
- At least one day with afternoon hours to optimize client sessions.
- Minimum of 16 hours per week.
- ·Requirements:

- Complete an interview process.
- Pass a Level II background screening and fingerprinting.
- Additional background checks may be required for applicants who have lived outside Florida in the last five years (at the intern’s expense).
- Attend a mandatory three-day training session prior to starting the internship.
