For your first appointment, we recommend you arrive a few minutes early (in person) to complete your or your children’s consent forms if not completed previously. Think about the first session as a get to know you. We want to know all about your life, from the highs to the lows, and everything in between. Your therapist will ask you a lot of questions to ensure they capture a full picture of what brings you into therapy.

After the intake is completed, your therapist will review the information that you shared with them and will talk with a supervisor regarding next steps as well. If possible, it is best to schedule your ongoing sessions to ensure that your therapist has the same time scheduled for you each week.

Unfortunately, we do not accept any insurance. We do offer a sliding scale fee based on your income and number of members in the household. We will do our best to work with you and your family to receive the mental health counseling services that you are looking for.

Your first appointment is typically an intake assessment. During this session, your counselor will:

• Discuss your concerns and goals
• Review your mental health history
• Explain confidentiality and policies

Develop a personalized treatment plan

Individual sessions typically last 50 minutes. Children’s counseling sessions may range between 30-45 minutes depending on the child.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Frequency may decrease as progress is made, depending on your needs and goals.

Yes. Your privacy is very important to us. Information shared in counseling is confidential, with exceptions required by law (such as risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse, or court orders). Your counselor will review confidentiality in detail during your first visit.

Yes. We offer secure telehealth sessions for clients who prefer remote services or cannot attend in person. Telehealth services are offered for those 14 and above and it is up to the discretion of your therapist if telehealth is the right fit for therapy.

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments may result in a fee. We have a 3 no-show policy and if your case is closed out due to no shows, a waiting period of 90 days is required. If you no show your intake appointment, a 30 day waiting period is required.

The length of counseling varies depending on your goals, needs, and progress. Some clients attend for a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support.
