WHAT WE OFFER

Metropolitan Ministries - Counseling and Resiliency Center

What We Offer

In conjunction with Metropolitan Ministries main mission, the Counseling and Resiliency Center focuses on providing comprehensive, professional and compassionate mental health services to those who are facing homelessness and financial crisis or otherwise, cannot access mental health care. We strive to provide mental health and counseling services for clients and families struggling with life’s issues. We provide a variety of modalities to help address anxiety, depression, trauma and other associated mental health difficulties people may face.

Our practice is grounded and certified in the Sanctuary Model of Organizational Trauma-Informed Care. Trauma informed care seeks to:

  • Realize the widespread impact of trauma and understand paths for recovery.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients, families and staff.
  • Integrate knowledge about trauma into policies, procedures and practices.
  • Actively avoid re-traumatization.

Services are offered to: individuals, children over the age of 6, couples, and families.

In-person and telehealth options are offered.

How To Get Help

Submit a request for services by scanning the QR code or clicking on the link below. You can also call us directly at 813-209-1006. Once your request is received, you will be contacted by one of our staff to set up your first appointment. Fees (if any) are determined on an income based sliding scale. Income verification will be required such as a copy of a pay stub or bank statement.

What to Expect:

Your first appointment will be your intake, where you will have your opportunity to tell “your story”. The clinician will also ask questions as to clarify your reasons for seeking counseling and to get a better understanding of what your experiences have been. From there, you and your therapist will formulate a plan on how best to address issues that you want to work on in future sessions.
